Lorraine Jarvie is loving her new home in Reading. “Everything here is within walking distance,” she enthuses, “and Reading has the best of everything”.
Best of all is the new Mal, in the historic Great Western Railway Hotel, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and frequented by former PM Sir Winston Churchill. “The Georgian exterior looks a bit like a giant doll’s house,” she says of the building. “It has a quirky railway theme inside, and the style is contemporary with an opulent twist.”
